Neighbourhood Watch Week 2024, 1st - 7th June

Neighbourhood Watch Week is a time of celebration and connection. We celebrate our togetherness and how for over 40 years, we have been making better places to live - together.

Street party

We celebrate Neighbourhood Watch Week in June, as part of the Month of Community. The Month of Community is when we come together to celebrate everything that makes our communities great. It's an opportunity to bring our neighbourhoods closer, give back, and shine a light on our amazing communities. June will see a month of community events and celebrations across the UK, as we get together to share friendships, have fun and support various charities and causes.

The theme this year is Local efforts, big impact, and focuses on:

FIND OUT HOW YOUR LOCAL EFFORTS CAN MAKE A BIG IMPACT

Celebrating the positive impact of local community activities

Our volunteers have committed their own time to improving the lives of neighbours and friends in their communities, whether that's through organising litter picks; sharing crime prevention advice and updates; offering to help a vulnerable neighbour with groceries etc; or by simply saying hello! We want to celebrate the positive impact that these actions have within communities, and beyond. We know that active volunteers help reduce loneliness and isolation, build resilience in communities, and support crime prevention through sharing information and advice. If you'd like to share a story from your community, where Neighbourhood Watch volunteers and activities have had a positive impact, get in touch! Email .

Inviting people to join your scheme

Want to expand your group but not sure where to start? You can choose to do something big or small. Why not start by ordering a range of promotional material from our shop, such as memberships flyers, join postcards, crime prevention booklets, promotional items (mugs, pens, lanyards), or road signs and window stickers? With some of that material in your hands you can knock on your neighbours doors to say hi and start a conversation with them. Or you may choose to arrange an event and invite neighbours to it, such as a tea or coffee morning, a litter pick event, a big lunch, a street party or a treasure hunt. Do what works for you. For more ideas and support, such as conversation starters, visit our BETTER PLACE TO LIVE page.

Celebrating our coordinators and other volunteers with our Volunteer Recognition Awards

To celebrate the amazing things Neighbourhood Watch groups do across England and Wales, nominate a group, a Coordinator or other Neighbourhood Watch volunteer into our Volunteer Recognition Awards 2024. Nominations open on Monday 3rd June. Find out more about our Volunteer Recognition Awards here.

Neighbourhood Watch Week 2022

As we celebrated 40 years of supporting neighbours and building communities' resilience, we marked Neighbourhood Watch Week (30th May - 5th June 2022) with the theme of 40 YEARS, 40 ACTIONS. We developed a 40 YEARS, 40 ACTIONS Pack to inspire you to get involved. Although the week of celebration has passed you can still download it and pick and choose the actions that suit you and your community. The 40 actions range from easy to hard, free to expense required, and online to face-to-face.
