Appleby Emergency Response Group are registered as a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme. The community Group are working together to support each other. They set up a network of street wardens to help those self isolating who do not have the support of family friends and neighbours to access shopping and medication.
They receive over 120 requests for assistance each week and have developed good working relationships with local businesses and the chemist.
The group received funding from Cumbria Community Foundation to help manage over 50 volunteers. To communicate they use the website www.applebyerg.co.uk and WhatsApp.
