One of the neighbours in the road set up a WhatsApp group a while ago.
This was used to make everyone aware if there was anything suspicious going on in the neighbourhood. It has worked really well and and we have quickly made people alert of any activity.
It is also a great way to bring the community together.
During the Covid-19 pandemic we have been communicating to neighbours who have symptoms and are isolating. We have taken shopping lists and picked up prescriptions. We have also used to share stock levels in shops to avoid unnecessary shopping trips to encourage stay at home. We are also sharing useful contacts - police contact centres / neighbourhood tweets and so on.
There are some neighbours without access to WhatsApp so I have posted notes through the doors with contact details. We are lucky as these neighbours are generally looked after by the person next door and if they have to self isolate we will know.
